BRING A BUDDY - SCHEDULE OF OFFICIAL RULES

DAN 2026 “BRING A BUDDY” PROMOTIONAL COMPETITION
Conducted in terms of Section 36 of the Consumer Protection Act 68 of 2008 (“CPA”)

1. GENERAL

1.1 This promotional competition (“Competition”) is organised by Divers Alert Network Southern Africa NPC (“DAN SA” or the “Promoter”).
1.2 Participation in this Competition constitutes acceptance of these Official Rules.
1.3 No purchase is necessary to enter or win. Making a purchase or payment of any kind will not increase the chances of winning.
1.4 The Competition is not open to the general public. It is open only to eligible DAN members within the designated region as set out in clause 3 below.
1.5 The Competition is void where prohibited or restricted by law.

2. DATA PRIVACY

2.1 The Promoter complies with the Protection of Personal Information Act (POPIA) and the ConsumerProtection Act (CPA).
2.2 Participant information will only be used for competition administration and prize fulfilment.
2.3 We will not share or sell participant information to any third party unless you consent. Youmay request deletion or correction of your personal information by contacting DAN at the detailsabove.

3. COMPETITION PERIOD

3.1 The Competition begins at 12:01 a.m. South Africa Standard Time (SAST) on 03 March 2026 and ends at 11:59 p.m. SAST on 31 October 2026 (“Competition Period”).

4. ELIGIBILITY

4.1 The Competition is open to all active or inactive DAN members as 03 March 2026 who are residents of South Africa.
4.2 Entrants must be 18 years or older. Minors may participate only with the written consent of a parent or legal guardian.
4.3 Entrants must be physically present in their country of residence at the time of entry.
4.4 Employees, officers, directors, agents, suppliers, or contractors of DAN SA, its affiliates, subsidiaries, advertising/promotion agencies, and immediate family members of such persons are not eligible to participate.
4.5 All entries must comply with these Rules, the CPA, and any other applicable laws.

5. ENTRY MECHANISM

5.1 Entrants must have a valid DAN Annual Membership number which will be used as their referral code.
5.2 The referral code may be shared via email, SMS, social media, or personal communication channels with individuals who may be interested in becoming DAN members (“Dive Buddies”).
5.3 When a Dive Buddy uses the referral code to successfully become a DAN member, the referring Entrant receives one (1) entry into the Competition.

Exclusions and Prohibited Conduct
5.4 The following do not qualify as valid entries:
5.4.1 Upgrading of an existing DAN membership, whether from a DAN Standard membership to a DAN Plus membership, or from DAN Plus to DAN Master Dive Pro, or from DAN Master Dive Pro to DAN Master Tech;
5.4.2 Self-referrals by an Entrant using their own referral code;
5.4.3 Referrals made through fictitious, duplicate, or fraudulent accounts;
5.4.4 Bulk distribution of referral codes, including but not limited to spam emails, mass social media posting, or communications with strangers;
5.4.5 Referrals made without the consent of the recipient, or in contravention of applicable antispam and data protection legislation.
5.5 Entrants must clearly disclose to recipients that they will receive a Competition entry if the referral is accepted. Failure to do so may result in disqualification and may constitute a contravention of the CPA.
5.6 Referrals must be made in a personal and customary manner suitable for communication with friends, family, or colleagues.
5.7 Any Entrant found to be engaging in manipulation, deception, or unfair practices to obtain entries may be disqualified and any entries awarded will be void.

6. REWARD PRIZES

6.1 Referring Entrants qualify for prizes based on the number of entries accumulated during the Competition Period.
6.2 The specific prize list, entry requirements, and approximate retail values will be disclosed on the DAN Southern Africa website and associated promotional material, in accordance with the CPA.
6.3 Prizes are non-transferable, non-exchangeable, and not redeemable for cash. DAN SA reserves the right to substitute a prize of equal or greater value in the event that an advertised prize is unavailable. If a prize needs to be substituted, DAN SA will notify affected winners in writing before awarding any substitute.
6.4 Unless expressly stated otherwise in writing, all costs not included in the description of the prize are the sole responsibility of the winner. These costs include, without limitation:
6.4.1 travel, flights, visas, transfers, and accommodation;
6.4.2 meals, beverages, subsistence, and incidentals;
6.4.3 insurance, medical costs, or personal expenses;
6.4.4 delivery or courier of prizes, unless otherwise specified or determined at the sole discretion of DAN Southern Africa.
6.5 Travel Disclaimer: DAN SA does not provide, arrange, or cover any travel, transport, accommodation, or related costs associated with the claiming, use, or enjoyment of any prize.

7. DRAWING AND AUDIT

7.1 A random prize draw will take place on or about 20 November 2026 in Cape Town, South Africa, conducted by an independent auditor in accordance with the CPA and applicable regulations.
7.2 Only Entrants who have accumulated the required number of entries will qualify for that prize draw.
7.3 The odds of winning depend on the number of valid entries received.
7.4 Unawarded prizes (due to no qualifying entries) will roll over into the next promotional campaign period.

8. WINNER NOTIFICATION

  1. 8.1 Prize winners will be notified by email and/or telephone within two (5) business days of the draw.
    8.2 If a selected winner:
    8.2.1 fails to respond within ten (10) business days;
    8.2.2 is found ineligible; or
    8.2.3 if the prize is undeliverable,
    the prize will be forfeited, and an alternate winner will be selected.

9. GENERAL CONDITIONS

9.1 All taxes and local levies on prizes, if applicable, are the sole responsibility of the prize winners.
9.2 By entering, each Entrant agrees:
9.2.1 To be bound by these Rules and the decisions of the Promoter and independent auditor;
9.2.2 To release and indemnify the Promoter, its affiliates, contractors, and partners against any claims or liabilities arising from participation or prize acceptance, except where liability cannot be excluded under the CPA; and
9.2.3 To the use of their name, voice, likeness, or image for promotional purposes without further compensation, unless prohibited by law. The Entrant has the right to decline and is afforded the opportunity to do so in writing on their Entrant application form. Any participant may also opt out of promotional use of their name, voice, or likeness at any time by contacting DAN SA in writing.
9.3 The Promoter is not responsible for:
9.3.1 late, lost, misdirected, or damaged entries;
9.3.2 technical or communication failures; or
9.3.3 circumstances beyond its reasonable control that affect the running of the Competition.
9.4 The Promoter reserves the right to cancel, suspend, or amend the Competition in the event of fraud, misconduct, technical failure, or any other reason beyond its control.

10. LEGAL

10.1 This Competition is conducted in accordance with Section 36 of the CPA and its associated Regulations.
10.2 Any disputes must be resolved individually in accordance with the laws of the Republic of South Africa.
10.3 To the maximum extent permitted by law, liability for punitive, consequential, or indirect damages is excluded.
10.4 A copy of these Rules is available at no cost from DAN SA or on the campaign website.
10.5 If you have a complaint or dispute about the competition, please notify DAN SA in writing.
