What is the Bring a Buddy referral programme?
The Bring a Buddy referral programme rewards DAN Southern Africa members for introducing new divers to join. When a referred individual takes out a qualifying Annual Membership, the referring member earns an entry into the rewards programme, subject to the programme terms and conditions.
Who may participate?
Both active and non-active DAN Southern Africa members residing in South Africa may participate in the referral programme.
The referred individual must reside within the Southern Africa region and qualify for a DAN Southern Africa Annual Membership.

For purposes of this programme, “immediate family member” includes a spouse, life partner, parent, child, sibling, or any person residing in the same household as the relevant employee or sponsor representative.
DAN Southern Africa reserves the right to verify eligibility and to disqualify any participant who does not meet the programme requirements.

Why is participation limited to South Africa?
Due to differing legal and regulatory requirements across countries within the Southern Africa region, participation in this referral programme is limited to members residing in South Africa. This ensures compliance with applicable South African legislative requirements.
Who qualifies as a new member?
A new member is an individual who has never previously held a DAN Southern Africa membership.
Renewals, reinstatements, existing members and membership upgrades do not qualify as new memberships for purposes of this referral programme.

How does the referral process work?
The referring member shares their DAN Membership number with the prospective member.
The prospective member applies for a qualifying Annual Membership.
The referring member’s full name and DAN Membership number must be included at the time of application.
Once the membership is activated and paid in full, the referral entry is confirmed.
Referral details must be submitted at the time of application. Retrospective claims may not be accepted.

What memberships qualify?
Only Annual Memberships qualify for purposes of this referral programme. Temporary, student or any other non-annual membership categories are excluded.
What rewards are available?
Referring members become eligible for the stated programme rewards once all qualifying criteria have been met and verified.

When will rewards be allocated?
Rewards will be processed after the referral programme has concluded and once all qualifying memberships have been verified as fully paid and activated.

Is there a limit to the number of referrals?
There is no limit to the number of referrals a member may make during the referral period. Each qualifying referral will earn an entry, subject to compliance with the programme terms and conditions.
Can rewards be exchanged for cash?
Rewards are non-transferable and not redeemable for cash unless expressly stated otherwise in the official programme terms.
When does the referral programme run?
The Bring a Buddy referral programme runs from 02 March 2026 to 31 August 2026.
